Profile

Dr. Patricia Boshe is a Lecturer at the Open University of Tanzania and Co-Director of African Law and Technology Institute (AFRILTI). Her doctoral thesis whose focus is on Privacy and Data Protection Legal Reforms in Africa was earned from the University of Passau in Germany. Previously Ms. Boshe obtained a Master of Laws degree in Information Technology and Telecommunications Law (LL.M IT&T), at the Open University of Tanzania in collaboration with the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and the UK Telecommunications Academy (UKTA). She studied her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) at Mzumbe University in Tanzania. Ms. Boshe has published journal articles, book reviews, and other scholarly comments on ICT generally and privacy law in particular. Her most recent work is a book “Data protection in the global contexts: Africa, EU, and the US” published in 2018 by SVH-Verlag. She has also authored book chapters in Makulilo(Ed), Data Privacy Laws in Africa, Springer, 2016 and has presented at local and international conferences. Boshe is currently working on a collaborative book on African sub regional regulation of privacy and data protection. She is also an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania.
